About Lifestyles Redesign & Home Staging

My husband and I have lived at Smith Mountain Lake since 1992 and are currently living in Huddleston, VA. I've got 25+ years of merchandising and project management experience. When the company I worked for decided to downsize I embraced the opportunity for change and made the decision to start a new career in Home Staging & Interior Redesign. I've taken my passion and experience coupled with additional schooling and training to become an Accredited and Certified Home Stager & Interior Redesign professional ready to help you.

I would like the thank you for the staging done at my lake house that was sold in part because of your staging and work. You provided a professional, 1st quality job that really complimented the house. I also appreciate your willingness to work with me and your prompt response when contacted. I wish you the best.

My passion for decorating started back in my early teen years. I was born & raised in the mid west and coming from a large family there wasn't the extra money to be spent on decorating, but I had big ideas and dreams of how to make the ordinary into something extraordinary. It was fun to repurpose and rearrange furniture not only did it change the look of a room but also the feel of the space. The changes were refreshing but plain, bare white walls were very boring. So to liven things up I started experimenting. My mother was not always so happy with the outcome but she did let me explore my creative side.

Little did I know that when I married my high school sweetheart who had joined the Air Force that I would be moving 6 times before his duty was up in the military. It didn't stop there. He got a job in the automotive industry and we moved 7 more times. Moving a lot meant buying & selling homes a lot. All of that moving provided me with plenty of opportunities and on the job training to decorate, redecorate, organize and update not only rooms but entire houses. When we were looking to buy a house we knew what we wanted however, we found it very disappointing to find people did not clean, de-clutter or repair the houses before putting them on the market. How serious were they to sell if they would not make minor repairs, de-clutter and clean up the house? Those experiences were the reasons for us to make sure when it was time for us to sell our houses that they were "staged to sell". I learned early on that if you want to sell fast-the house has to be clean, de-cluttered, appeal to a wide range potential buyers and be ready to move into.

The real estate market is overflowing with homes for sale and the competition is fierce. Preparing a house to sell is serious business. Simple and inexpensive changes can make a huge difference. It's my personal goal to work with clients within their budgets. Updating and staging homes will show off the potential of a house, by pointing out its finest features. Creating an atmosphere that encourages a potential buyer to imagine their new life in that home can result in quicker sales, possible multiple offers and higher profits. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
